San Cristóbal de La Laguna, commonly known as La Laguna, is a lovely city located in the Aguere Valley in the northern part of the island. The city was the ancient capital of the Canary Islands and now, it is considered to be the cultural capital. La Laguna was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999.
